E4: Best Biofuel Rolling +

Quotes of the Day +

Most advances in science come when a person for one reason or another is forced to change fields.

- Peter Borden

An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory.

- Friedrich Engels

The will to be stupid is a very powerful force, but there are always alternatives.

- Lois McMaster Bujold

It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.

Skeptics Need Not Apply

"To place a man in a multi-stage rocket and project him into the controlling gravitational field of the moon where the passengers can make scientific observations, perhaps land alive, and then return to earth—all that constitutes a wild dream worthy of Jules Verne. I am bold enough to say that such a man-made voyage will never occur regardless of all future advances."

- Lee deForest, American radio pioneer ; 1957

Help Wanted

Ready to help us improve America’s waste management practices, create skilled jobs, and form innovative new businesses that help your community directly benefit from the clean energy revolution?

With your help, Bioroot Energy seeks to:

  • Develop public awareness of the many opportunities in the waste to energy industry and gas to liquid fuels marketplace
  • Compile a national database of waste streams, flows and biomass information
  • Identify, scope and nurture potential biofuel projects in communities where projects make social, economic and environmental sense.

Why should you care? Your involvement could greatly benefit your community!

Why are we so sure our plan will work? Plasma gasification of municipal solid waste and non-crop biomass is as far from simple landfilling or incineration as the horse and buggy is to a spacecraft. And unlike any spacecraft, plasma gasification facilities that convert your town’s waste to biofuel can make money!

Given the demand for biofuels created by America’s Renewable Fuel Standards,  a fully operational 250 TPD gasification facility can expect to sell or even pre-sell every gallon of product it produces at a fair market price under long term contracts. The “only” obstacle is getting these cutting edge, 100-million dollar facilities off the drawing board and into production!

These highly engineered facilities must be planned, designed, funded and built to seamlessly process feedstocks, generate clean syngas, and then convert the syngas to a marketable energy product such as ethanol, methanol, di-methyl ether, hydrogen or electricity.

Gasification technology and the associated fuel output method is proven, scalable and ready for the municipal/regional marketplace. But who will decide what actually gets built? Each project will demand the right chemistry of business, economic imperatives and politics, along with community support, location-specific engineering and permitting, and a vast amount of due diligence and investment.

Some may think it’s an impossible task for any individual or organization to foster a nationwide waste management industry makeover of this scale, and especially by trying to accomplish it all at a community level. But some of us believe it is possible, and necessary, to change waste management practices for the better and be profitable as well.

Along the way we hope to network with people in every area of the country to share project information and related industry news as we go about the business of creating the clean, efficient waste to energy facilities of tomorrow in our own hometowns.

Bioroot Energy is a startup with a small core development team and a few big ideas.  To turn these ideas into reality, we need support from you and everyone else you know to be successful. Please help us spread the word.

If you see value here, please join us and contribute to the dialog, make a donation, or contact me to discuss a working arrangement.

Thank you for your interest and generous support!
