Bioroot Energy to sponsor writer, adventurer Jon Turk’s book release tour appearances in Montana
January 11, 2010 – Darby, Montana – Bioroot Energy, a green energy solution provider, today announced that it will provide Montana book release tour support for Jon Turk, noted Montana writer, scientist and adventurer. Mr. Turk is releasing his third book, titled The Raven’s Gift, on Macmillan Press.
“We’re proud to support Jon’s upcoming speaking appearances in Montana,” said Jay Toups, founder of Bioroot Energy. His remarkable life as an adventurer, writer, and scientist, is testimony to the power of humans to adapt, overcome challenges, and thrive in the face of adversity. ”
Montana owned and operated, Bioroot Energy is developing a 10-year plan to put trash, carbon wastes and nature’s excess biomass to work in the Bitterroot valley and other American communities, with a focus on creating valuable energy products, jobs, and taxable revenue for local, state and federal governments by processing municipal solid waste (MSW) and non-crop biomass feedstocks into clean, higher mixed alcohol fuels.
Working with project investors, politicians in local, county and state governments, community interest groups, environmental groups, waste management companies, and the general public, on a project-by-project basis, Bioroot seeks to help communities and stakeholders identify and assess the viability of converting their area’s sustainable solid waste and non-crop biomass, including woody biomass and other carbon-based feedstocks, into biofuels.
Bioroot Energy’s web site is a social network for interested persons to join, contribute and share information about biomass, municipal solid waste, plasma gasification, alcohol fuels, feedstock and project feasibility, and other key business and technology elements. In addition, registered users can use the site to learn about, scope, create and influence the design of theoretical gasification projects for their communities, while all site users can add value by commenting or co-authoring these potential projects.
“We hope that our site will quickly begin to show rich information about where potential markets are for developing small-to-medium sized waste to energy projects, as well as identify the major stakeholders in those biomass and waste management markets,” said Toups. “As a startup company, we are focused on scoping, developing and building a 100 ton per day pilot gasification to liquid biofuel facility in the Bitterroot valley, refining a patented, EPA-approved higher mixed alcohol fuel as the end product. However, the lessons and information we’re learning about the process of developing a single project have value for other potential waste to energy projects in other areas of the country. Together we can learn from multiple local campaigns, plus it’s easier to understand a new market at a local level first and then expand it nationally.”
